Launch Solutions

The launch solution for each CEi platform takes into consideration customer requirements, location of operation and platform type. As such, each aerial target system designed and produced by CEi utilizes a highly reliable launch solution that is based upon either Rocket Assisted Takeoff (RATO) or Pneumatic launch techniques. System Safety is a primary element of all CEi designs.

Our BQM-167A utilizes a zero-length launch rail, single Rocket Assisted Take Off (RATO) bottle solution (Figure 1). A similar launch solution is utilized for the BQM-167i.

The combined transportation/launch trailer for the BQM-177A(i) (Figure 2) provides versatility by reducing handling during preflight operations and providing portability to the user community. The dual RATO solution (Figure 3) utilized by the BQM-177A(i) further reduces pre-flight preparation by minimizing RATO alignment activity associated with a single RATO launch solution.

CEi's Firejet Aerial Target System is capable of RATO or pneumatic launch techniques (Figure 4). Our pneumatic solution is designed and manufactured by CEi specifically for use with the Firejet or other UAV systems of comparable size.
